About me
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Genealogy found me in 1988 when dr. RTJ (Roelf) Lombard, the first Head of Genealogy Division at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), offered me a position as research assistant. After a year I became a full researcher.
Since the first day in the Institute for Historical Research - Genealogy, HSRC my work environment was never dull.
I was fortunate to be appointed as Head of Genealogy Information,HSRC in 1990 and then since 1991 I became the second head of Genealogy at the HSRC after dr. Lombard retired. I still love the opportunity to undertake thorough research and, as a qualified teacher, combine it with training people in the method of research.
My wish is that everybody will realize the importance of their personal history, make an effort to preserve their own family history for the future generations and share it with family, but in so doing learn more abouth themselves,
their personal history as well as the history, cultural history, etc. of our beautiful country South Africa and its people.

My Story
I started the website to tell visitors more about the Genealogy Expo which I organized since 2008 - first just to celebrate genealogy which filled my life since 1988 but the exhibitors ask for a repeat.
At the end I organized the expo until 2024 - but now it is the end of my expo dream,
but I remain a genealogy consultant and researcher.
